A sound mind in a sound body is the basic philosophy of physical education. Both the brain and the brawn of the students should be equally trained and developed to bring the best out of them in all walks of life. The department of physical education at STC has been encouraging sportsmen by giving them professional training, coaching, competitive experiences and exposures under the direct supervision of trained and experienced coaches and sports administrators.
Our professional preparation through training brings excellence individually as well as a team. In pursuit of excellence, our boys regularly play against top teams in Tamil Nadu and other states, which provide them plethora of job opportunities as sports administrators in various departments of centre and state governments.
STC Sportsmen are committed, hardworking, highly disciplined without compromising their studies. Government organizations like ICF, Railways, Banks, Central Excise, Customs etc., prefer STC sportsmen as they have been the asset and enduring to play for long years in their teams.

STC Boys Secured Second Place in the Bharathiyar University Overall Sports Ranking for the year 2022-2023.This was officially declared by the University authorities in the BU Sports AGM on 17th Aug 2023.
Facilities at Sports Block – There is a separate sports block exclusively for sports and games with all modern amenities.
1. STC Organized 10th State Level Inter – School STC Silver Jubilee – Founders Trophy Volleyball Championship for School Boys from 26th to 28th Nov 2022. Dr. C.Arumugan, Associate Professor (Retd.), Tamilnadu Physical Education & Sports University, Chennai has consented to be Chief Guest and distributed the Prizes.
2. STC Organized Bharathiar University Inter Collegiate Ball Badminton Tournament for men on 03rd & 4th March 2022.
3. STC Organized 6th District Level Inter – School STC Founders Trophy in Volleyball, Ball Badminton,Kho-Kho and Basketball for Boys, Kho – Kho and Ball Badminton for Girls on 28th July 2023. Shri. K.S.Akilan,Managing Director,Pazhamudir Nilayam,Pollachi consented to be Chief Guest and distributed the Prizes.
4. STC Organized 11th State Level Inter – School STC Founders Trophy in Ball Badminton Tournament for Boys on 1st& 2nd September 2023. Shri. R.Devanand, Executive Engineer, TANGEDCO, Angalakurichi, Pollachi consented to be Chief Guest and distributed the Prizes.
5. STC Organized KITTU Trophy presented by CDFA for School Level under19 Boys Football Tournament on 8th Sep 2023.
6. STC Organized South Zone CDVA District League Championship on 28th Sep 2023.
26th Annual Sports Day Celebration was conducted on 10th April 2023 and Ms.V.Pandeeswari MA.,NIS, Inter National Athlete Southern Railways, Madurai. has consented to be the Chief Guest, delivered the Sports Day address and distributed the prizes.
