The MBA @ STC
STC is the first institution to offer AICTE approved MBA programme in the Pollachi Education District Eight (8) batches of students have successfully passed out and are well-placed in jobs. Due to popular demand for MBA at STC the intake was increased to 120 in 2009-10.
The social purpose of MBA at STC is to create capable executive human resource for the industry and business from among the youth of rural and less affordable society. To create a capable human resource, our needs to develop the skill in the youth beyond the syllabus towards nowledge and its application in real life. To create an executive human resource, one needs to develop professional skills in the youth to be a personality adoptable and capable to perform any task effectively. Above all, a resource is human if only that resource is the right combination of KNOWLEDGE, WISDOM and COMPASSION. It is at the level, a LEADER evolves. The MBA programme at STC is thus a process of converting the student or evolving a “professional executive” out of an ordinary student.
In the process of developing a capable human resource, MBA at STC adopts unique teaching learning system combining theory, practice, internal seminars, assignments, etc with greater emphasis on Case Analysis Management Practice sessions and Summer Project Work and industry internship.
In the process of producing an executive human resource, MBA at STC adopts over 200 hours for soft Skill (Attitude, Aptitude, Communication, GD, Management Games and Quiz, GK, etc.)Development (in-house and external) by professional trainers from Chennai and other metros, Business Information Analysis (Business World, Business Line) and Assignments, Industry Analysis through top-end industry database software , visits to major industries, value added training like Tally, Six Sigma, etc. MBA at STC is a judicious mix of management theory ( the science of it) and management practices (the Art of it) to create in the student the totality of skills forever for career success.

The pedagogy
According to its social purpose, MBA @ STC admits students who meet the minimum criteria set by AICTE & the university, on first come first served basis. While students may have varying degrees of capability in acadamics, aptitude, attitude or communication, when they enter into the hallowed halls of MBA at STC, the Management and the faculty will take up this challenge with smile and commitment and ensure year after year they create in the astirant managers a permanent appetite for hard work and urge to permanent learning with the bend of mind for ethics and social commitment; a true transformation of ordinary talent in to productive human resource.

Dr. P. Radhakrishnan
Director, MBA
graduated with M.Sc.(Maths) from Madurai-Kamaraj University, India and then did M.S ( Statistics/O.R) at the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He has also completed M.Tech (IT) from Punjabi University, India. He has more than 2 decadesof teaching experience and held teaching positions in the area of Management Science / System Science in reputed Institutions in India and abroad. His broad areas of interest include Quantitative, Systems and Operation Management . He completed PhD (Management Science) in the area of Supply Chain Management at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India He has published widely in International Journals and International Conference proceedings . He has been internationally recognized and inducted into the list of “Leading professionals of the World 2010” administered by International Biographical Centre,Cambridge, England for significant contribution in the area of “Systems Science and Engineering”. He is guiding Ph.D students and offers consulting to business organizations. He is also Chairman for Board of Studies of Management Program at the College.

He has worked as HR professional in leading automobile and textile organizations for over 18 years. Has also conducted multifarious training Programmes for these organizations. He was instrumental in creating a comprehensive and novel labour policies and practices for the textile units, which are now being widely followed in almost all the textile units across Tamilnadu. He currently holds the position of Assistant professor and simultaneously acts as Industry-Institute interface for the college. Did Post Graduation in Political Science and Public Administration and Post Graduate Diplomas in Personnel Management and Labour Law. As an Accountant, Cashier and as Admin. Manager for 22 years in different textile units such as Sri Saravana Mills, Amaravathi Spinning Mills (P) Ltd and Million Spinners (P) Ltd. He is well versed in Accounting Procedures, Accounts Finalization, Sales Tax and Central Excise Procedures & in Computerized Accounting. To aid in his work, he acquired a Diploma in Accounting Software. He has won Proficiency awards in English & Physics. Hailing from a teaching family background, he always had an Inner passion for teaching. He then joined as the Head of the BBM Department at Sree Ramu College of Arts & Science, Pollachi in 2006. He also served as the Placement Officer there during his tenure. He then joined Sree Saraswathi Thyagaraja College, Pollachi as the Head of the BBM Department in 2007. He was shifted to the PG Department Of Management Science in the same college in August, 2008 and is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the department. He has presented several papers in the regional, national and international seminars and conferences, in various core areas of business administration and has published several articles in reputed magazines. He has guided more than 20 M.Phil dissertations in various universities and all of them have been awarded. He is pursuing his Ph.D. in Human Resource Management.
